Rev. Brenda Smith
Associate Minister

Rev. Brenda L. Smith is a native Texan, born and raised in Henderson, Texas and a lifetime member of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. She has served diligently in the Mighty 8th Episcopal District from Central Texas to Dallas-Fort Worth/North West Texas Region.
Rev. Smith has served in many capacities throughout the CME Church before accepting her call into ministry in 2011. Rev. Smith was admitted on trial in 2014. She was ordained Deacon in 2015 at the DFW Region Annual Conference and ordained Elder during the 2018 DFW/NWT Region Annual Conference. In 2019, Rev. Smith was appointed as Associate Minister to Ezell Chapel CME Church by Senior Bishop Lawrence L. Reddick, III. God continues to bless her ministry as she was admitted into Full Connection in the CME Church during the 2022 DFW/NWT Region Annual Conference. .
Rev. Smith is extremely excited about her journey and since arriving at Ezell Chapel, she has taken on several roles under the leadership of Rev. A. Roy Smith. Rev. Smith is passionate about preaching and teaching God’s word, supporting her Pastor and most importantly serving God and His people.

Rev. Smith is a graduate of Texas College in Tyler, Texas receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. She is a graduate of Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas receiving her Master of Divinity Degree in May 2021. Her educational journey continues as she is now a 2025 doctoral candidate pursuing her Doctor of Ministry Degree at Perkins School of Theology at SMU.
Rev. Smith is employed by Dallas Area Rapid Transit as a Board Support Analyst.

Rev. Brenda Smith is married to Mr. MacArthur Smith, Sr., they are a blended family with 4 adult children and 13 grandchildren.
